More than double the number of Australians have become alarmed about climate change in the past decade.

In this episode of "From the Newswires", RedWires AU Editor-in-Chief Miko Santos interviewed Dr. Lucy Richardson, Research Fellow, Communications & Media Studies from Monash University.

Her study reveals Australian are overwhelmingly changing their attitudes towards climate change but are reluctant to change their diets to help the environment.

DR. Richardson is a postdoctoral research fellow with the Monash Climate Change Communication Research Hub. Her current research focuses on understanding Australian climate change audiences and their responses to messages, and how the media represents topics relating to climate change. Her broader research interests sit at the intersection of environmental science, communication, and social psychology.

Lucy is co-editor of the Research Handbook on Communicating Climate Change (Edward Elgar, 2020), and teaches the university's Climate Change Communication unit. She was also a 2021 member of the Commonwealth Futures Climate Research Cohort of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the British Council.
