New explosions rocked Tehran early Tuesday as Israel's cabinet deliberated whether to accept ceasefire terms outlined by President Donald Trump, with the proposed truce set to begin just hours later amid continuing military operations.

The developments highlight growing tensions between Israeli objectives to weaken Iran's military capabilities and U.S. pressure to halt the escalating conflict following American strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

"We're now at an interesting time because this may be the first time that we will see Israeli interests diverge from U.S. political directives," said Jonathan Conricus, former Israel Defense Forces spokesperson, in a Sky News interview early Tuesday morning from Tel Aviv.

The explosions in Tehran occurred less than four hours before the scheduled ceasefire implementation, raising questions about how the proposed truce would be phased in and whether both sides would comply with the terms.

Cabinet Deliberations Continue

As of early Tuesday morning local time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had not agreed to the ceasefire terms, according to Conricus, who noted the Israeli cabinet was actively deliberating the proposal.

"The Israeli cabinet is deliberating exactly that topic as we're speaking, or they may have just concluded deliberating," Conricus said during the 4 a.m. interview.

The timing reflects the complex diplomatic dynamics at play, with Trump apparently seeking to broker an end to hostilities after authorizing U.S. military action against Iranian nuclear installations.

Despite the ongoing negotiations, Israeli communities experienced what Conricus described as "a relatively quiet night," with the last bomb shelter alerts occurring several hours before dawn.

"There were four UAVs that were fired from Iran or dispatched from Iran that were intercepted outside of Israeli airspace, so Israelis have had an abnormally quiet night, which of course is always welcome," he said.
